At her core, Andrea is a practitioner of empathy, a lover of words, a student, and a storyteller. She is continually inspired by the power of language, the lens by which we contextualize the world, and the work that influences it. She believes great art holds a mirror up to nature and consistently finds truth within itself to inspire and connect through shared experience.

Andrea, a proud Mexican-American from Austin, Texas, earned her BFA in Acting from the University of Minnesota/Guthrie BFA Actor’s Training Program. In 2015 she moved to Chicago; found representation with the incomparable team at Paonessa Talent and has since performed at The Goodman Theatre, Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, Writers Theatre, and Victory Gardens. Regionally she has been seen at The Guthrie Theatre, American Players Theatre, Indiana Repertory Theatre, and Cincinnati Playhouse to name a few.

Andrea’s super power is her ability to deconstruct text. By offering an inquisitive, investigatory perspective into the language, her quest is for complication, queerness, to find the richness of challenging deeply held assumptions, celebrate contradictions, and never stop asking “Why?”

Andrea’s personal mission is to amplify marginalized voices, to provide allyship to those whom history has attempted to erase or oppress, and to inspire her collaborators as much as the audiences she is interminably grateful for.

It takes a village. Andrea believes in the power of community and knows that her city, her community, her family and friends are at the heart of her work, her inspiration, and the source of her dedication.
